3 Themes For A Wonderful Winter Wedding

By December 15, 2020January 31st, 2023No Comments

Brides everywhere are embracing the holiday cheer and celebrating their love with a winter wedding. Dressed by the glistening December weather, a winter wedding creates a truly magical atmosphere that leaves guests in awe.

Using the season’s top trends, we’ve compiled 3 Winter Wedding Themes, complete with beautiful color schemes, unique venues and decadent decor.

1. Natural and Festive

Many associate winter with the holiday season’s signature red and green colors. Add elegance to your wedding color schemes by introducing luxurious different shades of these colors, ranging from a deep burgundy to a glowing emerald green. An easy way to use these colors is a classic Christmas plaid!

Utilize DIY nature decorations to not only save money, but to enhance your holiday theme. Incorporate evergreens, pinecones and wreaths into your centerpieces as well as touches of red roses.

Tammy and Justin (pictured by Lauren Fair) celebrated at Terrain in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania. The venue’s greenery and wood elements created a cozy atmosphere, while the garden shed and greenhouse on site kept guests warm from the winter’s weather.

2. Winter Wonderland

Embrace something blue with a winter wonderland theme. This theme can be easily accomplished by combining a range of blue and white hues. From a dark navy to a dazzling baby blue, there’s a wide range of options for bridesmaids dresses, perfect for any skin tone.

Do not forget to adopt classic neutral colors to bring together your wedding’s color scheme and consider using silver and crystal accents. An easy way to give your reception a winter feel is using glitter, snowflakes or twinkle lights!

Carly and Jeff used a classic white theme when they tied the knot at Front & Palmer. Instead of blue, they used a light green to accent the pure white decor. Front & Palmer’s hanging white lights and long chiffon curtains make a magical winter backdrop.

3. Rustic Romance

Get cozy with warm brown tones and accents of blue, green and gold. Nan & Dan used a navy blue and forrest green plaid on their tables, tying perfectly with their evergreen decor. The plaid is seen again on each bridesmaid underneath their comfy fur stoles.

Rustic decor is easily accomplished with candles and wood pieces like their round wooden alter. After the ceremony, the couple hosted a warm reception at Center City’s Crystal Tea Room. We adore this incredible venue!
